CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

PLEIN AIRE:

Catch the spirit of painting on location. Capture the fleeting aspects of outdoor light. Learn how to quickly mass in shapes, using value and color.

We will primarily work on location. However if we have inclement conditions, please be prepared to work indoors from photos that you have taken personally.

A demonstration will kick of each class, along with individual guidance and a group critique. Emphasis is on good composition.

STILL LIFE:

This class will concentrate on drawing, composition, edges, color and how light flows. Students will be taught through demonstrations, critiques and individual guidance.

PORTRAIT IMPRESSION & FIGURE:

This class will begin with a demonstration:
Learning to see correctly by measuring and using a plumb line.
Drawing, composition, simplifying shapes will all be taught along with how to avoid common mistakes.
